
Course Overview
LL. B (Honours) is a 4 years’ program consisting of eight (8) semesters; in which each academic year consists of two (2) semesters. All the academic semesters begin in January and July of each year. These semesters will consist of 22 weeks for teaching, rest two weeks are kept for preparatory level and examination, respectively. The whole program will be a program of 132 credits.

The Department of Law aspires the vision through the following missions:- To provide a value driven top notch knowledge, skills and professionalism to all students and enable them to provide legal service at the national, regional and international levels.
- To promote cultural, legal and ethical values with a view top remote and foster the rule of law and the objectives enshrined in the Constitution of Bangladesh.
- To impart pragmatic and community responsive legal education with the spirit and sense of justice so that the students can demonstrate their full legal potential.
- To become a foremost law institution, propagation students focusing on research and community work besides fulfilling their respective ambitions.
Objectives of the Program Offering Entity
We have reached at the door of 21st century and there is no room for doubt that it is very modern civilization. Adequate laws and enforcement of such laws in every field are the molder of this civilized world. So, the necessity of the legal study is beyond description and law has become one of the top most subjects among the students. With a view to making skilled, experienced, prominent and upright law professionals who will serve the future world and make up the loopholes of laws by making new, technical and proper law. The department Law of Cox’s Bazar International University like other universities of the world is striving to reach this goal.
Program Educational Objectives [PEOs]
- PEO 1: LL.B. (Honors) program aims to introduce law students to the exciting world of logic, rationalization, and decision making through legal knowledge.
- PEO 2: The program is designed in such a way so as to equip law graduates with quality legal education with appropriate theoretical knowledge and practical approach.
- PEO 3: The program aims to introduce law students to various legal regimes and legal research activities which will enable them think critically to legal issues in a given situation and will develop advocacy skills amongst them.
- PEO 4: A robust emphasis is placed on developing the students’ ability to identify and analyze legal problems and issues and then proceed to its solution with a strong sense of justice.
Program Learning Outcomes [PLOs]
Upon completion of LL.B. (Honors) Program graduates will have:- PLO 1: An ability to achieve in depth and updated knowledge on laws and legal concepts and to understand contemporary socio-legal phenomena.
- PLO 2: An ability to demonstrate, integrate and apply legal knowledge and experience with creative skill and critical approach of thinking in solving real life legal problems.
- PLO 3: An ability to plan different policies, methods, and legal requirements to address a particular legal and socio-legal issues in a given or contemporary situation based on strong reasoning.
- PLO 4: An ability to interact with people and society at large, build collaborative relationships with individuals and groups, communicate effectively with functional advocacy skills and techniques in legal and socio-legal context.
