Introduction to Program

Welcome to the Faculty of Business Administration of Cox’s Bazar International University.
It is my great pleasure to see the course contents and syllabus of BBA program being published in a catalogue and ready for handling it over to our students, faculty members and other interested groups. The Faculty of Business Administration at CBIU has been offering undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Administration since its inception. The prime goal of the faculty is to provide students with an integrated and practical approach to understanding current business practices.
The faculty offers specialized programs such as BBA (Major in Accounting, Finance, Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA). To meet both the industry requirements as well as external stakeholders’ needs, we continuously maintain collaboration with universities from home and abroad, local industries to multinational companies, and the local community. Thus, our graduates are prepared to fit well in the competitive business world both in local context as well as multicultural & diversified environment. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at CBIU is a four-year, 120 credit hour program. The BBA program combines classroom, workplace, extra-curricular and international experiences and prepares students to solve the business problems of today and tomorrow. The program lets you arrange these experiences to suit your interests, goals and lifestyle, and provides the support and guidance you need along the way.
The Faculty of Business usually endeavors to recruit the best and brightest faculty members. It may be mentioned that many of our faculty members have PhDs and wider experience in the diversified and interdisciplinary fields of education and industrial sector.

Mission of The Program

The mission of the Bachelor of Business Administration program is to teach students core foundational concepts, preparing the students to succeed in their professional careers. The program empowers them to use relevant business knowledge, think critically, solve problems, communicate, and make decisions in an ethical and professional manner.

Program Learning Outcomes

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree prepares graduates to seek employment in entry-level positions in various industries of budgeting, accounting, personnel, risk management, facilities planning and management.
The performance outcomes which are required for the completion of the program include: class participation, response to discussion questions, writing research papers, presentations, case study analyses, quizzes, mid-term and final examinations.

Admission Requirements

The minimum qualifications for admission to undergraduate programs at Cox’s Bazar International University are the following:
• At least GPA 5 (having minimum GPA 2.5 or 2nd division in both SSC & HSC or in equivalent examinations)
or
• At least GPA 6 (combined, but score not less than GPA 2 in any individual examination)
or
• The Children of Freedom Fighters: A total GPA of 5.00 or more in S.S.C. and H.S.C. Examinations combined,
or
• O Level: Completed 5 subjects with no ‘E’ in any subject.
• A Level: Completed 2 subjects with no ‘E’ in any subject.
• In addition, the student has to have at least four ‘C’ with no ‘E’ in all seven subjects combined in ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels.
or
• A United States High School Diploma with required minimum grade point.

Grading System and Performance Evaluation

The total performance of a student in a given course is based on a scheme of continuous assessment. For theory courses this continuous assessment is made through Attendance, Class Tests and Assignments. This assessment is also made through Mid-term Examination and Semester Final Examination. The total marks distribution is as follows:
